Down Home Voter Registration Guide

Statewide and local elections have a big impact on our daily life. Things that really matter like housing, schools, libraries, and emergency management services are decided at the local level. Use this guide to make sure you and your neighbors are ready to make their voices heard!

Step 1: Learn the dates & deadlines for your 2025 elections.

September Municipal Elections

  • Aug 21, 2025 – Sep 6, 2025: In-Person Early Voting Period

Step 2: Make sure you are fully registered to vote

After the 2024 election, we learned that certain politicians may challenge the results of elections based on minor details about voter regstrations. In addition, there have been thousands of voters thrown off of voter rolls all over the state. 

Even if you have voted in recent elections, everyone should double check their registration and make sure that all details are correct.

Step 3: Identify the candidates who will work for you

Down Home NC members will be researching, interviewing, and voting to endorse candidates who will fight for rural working class people of all races. We will announce our endorsed candidates on our website and via social media when those endorsements are complete. Stay tuned!

Step 4: Make your voting plan!

Mark Your Calendar: Know when you’ll cast your ballot & get prepared. You can click the icon here to find your voting dates!
Find your voting location: Make sure you know where you're going - click the icon to find your polling location now!

Make sure you have a way to get there: If you don’t have a car, ask a friend, neighbor, or family member for a ride!

Bring a crowd: Voting is more fun with company – try to rally at least three friends to join you in casting ballots!

Bring the right form of identification: The list of what works might change, so be sure to check for the most recent info by clicking on the icon!
