Reverend Doctor Wendy Ella May is a member in Johnston County who is running to represent our needs and values in North Carolina House 28. Dr. May is the first open LGBTQQIA2 candidate to run for elected office in Johnston County.
Wendy Ella May is a veteran and small business owner in Micro Township. Her platform is closely aligned with that of Down Home and she represents the values of our Johnston county members. As a representative, she would bring more assistance to Veterans, uphold women’s rights, fully fund public education, support the middle class, fight for healthcare and work to protect our environment.
What’s more, Wendy Ella May is an outspoken proponent of equity for all people. This feels deeply important in a place like Johnston County where the far-right has been working to take away rights and freedoms from local residents. Another Johnston County member, Shikara Fraser, described Wendy Ella May this way: “She is someone who makes me really excited to vote for her. She will get things done. She has a plan.”
