About Down Home North Carolina
Down Home North Carolina is an organization founded on the belief that small towns and rural areas cannot be ignored if we want to see impactful change at the state and national level. Through organizing, leadership development, multiracial movement building, and civic engagement, we work to build permanent infrastructure that amplifies the voices and power of rural working people and the issues that affect us the most.
About the Project
This fall Down Home North Carolina is running a Distributed Deep Canvass to have conversations with working class voters across the state.
This fall 2021 Deep Canvass will attempt to make contact with thousands of rural, working class voters of all political beliefs and engage them with a script about the impacts of COVID-19, the resulting economic crisis, and the federal government’s role in helping Americans Recover. Down Home aims to discover how North Carolinians feel about government stimulus, economic inequality, and how the pandemic has affected their lives.
