About the Project
Down Home was founded on the belief that small towns and rural areas cannot be ignored if we want to see progressive change at the state and national level. Through organizing, leadership development, multiracial movement building, and civic engagement, we work to build permanent infrastructure that amplifies the voices and power of rural working people and the issues that affect them the most.
This Fall, Down Home North Carolina will be running a non-partisan, voter engagement canvass to encourage working class voters to make their voices heard in local elections. For 2021, our focus is running a voter engagement program across two counties: Alamance and Cabarrus County. These canvases will be centered around the issues of the local economy, housing, and infrastructure. We also aim to educate and engage people on how local governments work and inform people on the mission of Down Home and the issues we work on.
About the Role
Down Home North Carolina seeks multiple full-time paid canvassers for it’s 2021 political voter outreach (C3). Organizers will have the opportunity to work as a part of a state-wide team raising awareness about upcoming municipal elections and providing voters with the most up to date voting information. Positions are available in Alamance and Cabarrus Counties.
