Down Home and local community members, teachers, parents, and students met outside the Alamance Burlington School Board Meeting this month to celebrate books, learning and diversity.
“Our schools need more books, not less,” explains Todd Warren of Down Home, who pointed out that his child’s history text book only covered the American presidents through George Bush.
Attendees linked the need for books to the overall need for school resources and a strong, healthy budget to support our children’s education. Interested in helping to create sane, positive pro-public school power with your local school board? Contact [email protected]
