Part-Time/Temporary

Time Period: August 2nd, 2021 to September 27th, 2021

Compensation: $15.00/hour + daily mileage as needed

Pay schedule: TBD

Hours: 25 to 29 hours per week

This Summer, Down Home North Carolina is running a Distributed Deep Canvass in support of our 10,000 Rural Voices Heard Project. Our goal is ambitious: We want to have 10,000 conversations with rural folks across the state. We know that once we start talking to each other, we can build power with each other. But first, we have to stop and listen. And allow folks to feel heard.

The 10,000 Rural Voices Heard Deep Canvass will attempt to make contact with thousands of rural, working class voters of all political beliefs and engage them with a script about the impacts of COVID-19, the resulting economic crisis, and the federal government’s role in helping Americans Recover. Down Home aims to discover how North Carolinians feel about government stimulus, economic inequality, and how the pandemic has affected their lives. Once the initial conversation is had, the Distributed Organizing Manager will then follow up with voters and engage them with Down Home’s work and attempt to integrate them into the organization.
